Diesel Pumps

Our range of Sykes self-priming diesel driven pump sets is suitable for applications where power is not readily available. They are trailer mounted for ease of use and engineered for optimum pumping with minimum energy consumption.

The range of diesel driven pump sets offers pumping capabilities of up to 1 130 litres per second and a maximum heads of up to 208 metres.

The pumps are powered by high performance Caterpillar, Perkins, Cummins or John Deere diesel engines; all brands known for reliability, ease of service and part availability.

Series and parallel configurations are available to facilitate higher heads and an increased flow rate

Himax Range

A true self-priming pump so does not require manual priming of the suction line or filling of a priming tank in order to begin its normal operation.

Boasting one of the best shaft stiffness ratio’s of any automatic priming pump on the market, the Sykes High Head range provides the reliability to meet market expectations.

In addition the pump can run dry for extended periods due to the mechanical seal assembly which allows priming with long suction hoses and suction lifts of up to 9m (28 feet).

As fluid levels fluctuate, the pump will “snore” until the liquid is available for the pump to fully reprime itself automatically.

Medium Head Range

Developed to operate in harsh mining, construction and sewerage by-pass environments which feature both high water flow and long pipe runs.

Innovations include the introduction of a flooded, oil-lubricated pump bearing set-up and leak-free pump bearing isolator in place of the grease lubrication system featured in many other pumps. This neatly sidesteps the usual threat of pump failure due to either too much or too little grease - or because of contamination.
